The game is actually a lot trickier than it sounds as the civilian NPCs look just like the characters that you get to play as. Oh look, there's a ruthless murderer in the street, nothing to see here! You are also tasked with escaping from a pursuer of your own, using blending in methods (e.g sitting on benches, hiding in crowds), special powers and hiding spaces. The ACB beta gives you the chance to play in its ‘Wanted’ mode – a fun cat-and-mouse like mode in which you are given a target (with a picture) and a compass to figure out where on Earth they are. The whole idea of the beta is that you play as a Templar employee given the chance to wave lots of sharp objects around, attempting to make the other employees contracts more “Temp”orary (haha! Ok, sorry…) As a result, the whole process took a week because of my epically slow download speeds (thanks, AOL!)Īnyway, rant over, time for some real talk! Let me first start off by venting my frustrations – I had to download the 3GBs required to play the beta, twice! The first download saw that the data was ‘corrupted’ when I tried to install it and after trying my hand at plans b and c (read the troubleshooting advice, restart my PS3) I had no choice but to download it for a second time. “I am Ezio Auditore da Firenze” – as if Mr ‘I’m too cool for school’s’ hack & slash, free-running ways weren’t enough to make you pick up a copy of Assassin’s Creed Brotherhood this November, the game’s developer, Ubisoft Montreal, has only gone and added an epic new multiplayer mode to the game as well.
